  • Eligibility: No prior first aid experience is required. Learners must be 16 years or older and physically able to perform practical tasks such as CPR, recovery position, and wound dressing.
  • Content: Provides comprehensive training for designated workplace first aiders in medium to high-risk environments. Topics include:
  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Incident assessment and casualty management
  • CPR and safe use of an AED
  • Treatment of choking, bleeding, and shock
  • Managing fractures, sprains, and spinal injuries
  • Burns, eye injuries, and head trauma
  • Major illnesses including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy
  • Secondary surveys and monitoring casualties
  • Assessment: Learners are assessed through practical demonstrations, scenario-based activities, and a multiple-choice theory test.

Highfield First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF)

  • Eligibility: Learners must hold a valid or recently expired First Aid at Work certificate. Highfield allows a 1-month grace period after expiry, but learners are not qualified during that time. Proof of previous certification is required before enrolment.
  • Content: Refreshes and updates the full First Aid at Work syllabus, ensuring learners remain competent and confident in their role. Topics include:
  • Roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Incident assessment and casualty management
  • CPR and AED use
  • Treatment of choking, bleeding, and shock
